Please note: The Due Diligence Form does not need to be submitted with your application. Only shortlisted applicants will be asked to complete and submit this form as part of the assessment process.

Assessment process

All applications will undergo an initial eligibility and scope assessment. Eligible applications will then be reviewed against the published evaluation criteria.

The strongest proposals will be shortlisted and invited to a virtual pitch interview. Shortlisted applicants will also be required to submit a completed Due Diligence Form before final funding decisions are made.

Applicants will be informed of the outcome following completion of the review, interview, and due diligence process.

 

Successful applicants

Successful applicants will work with the University of Exeter to finalise project scope, milestones, budgets, and contractual arrangements prior to award.

Projects:

  • may run for up to 18 months;
  • must be completed no later than 31st July 2028;
  • must publish outputs on an open-access basis, subject to ethical, legal, data protection, community ownership, and safety constraints; and
  • require all successful applicants and team members to sign the Future Proofing our Climate and Weather Intellectual Property Pledge.

  • Shortlisted applicants invited to interview: By 28th August 2026

  • Contracting period: 21st September–16th October 2026
